The Challenges, Responsibilities and Self Satisfaction of a Heavy Civil Construction Engineer

This presentation will touch on our industry and company focus, talk about my career development and lessons learned, duscuss challenges that our construction engineers have overcome with innvoative solutions, and describe how meaninfgul a career building infrastructure can be.

Michael began his career at Traylor in 1991 as a field engineer in Traylor's Bridge and Marine Division. He went on to become an estimator, project coordinator, and division manager before moving to Traylor's Underground Division in 1997. In 2002 Michael was promoted to Vice President and Underground Division Operations Manager, and in 2007 was named Co-President of the company.

Michael earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Geology from Duke University in 1989. Working in nearly every role in Traylor Bros. and in both divisions, from field engineer to upper management, from bridges and tunnels to operations support - has resulted in the unique set of skills and experience that make him the effective leader he is today.
